Health Physics

Health physicists are scientists with excellent physics skills who are concerned with the safe use and application of ionizing radiation. They are trained to be able to evaluate and control hazards, and to protect people and the environment.

Information about radiation protection in Canada can be found at the website of the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA). More information on Health Physics can be found through the Health Physics Society.

Practising Health Physicists can apply to be certified. This allows them to demonstrate proven competence in the profession. More information on the certification process can be found at the American Board of Health Physics website.
